The price of flake graphite tends to stabilize
At the beginning of the month, the overall price trend of flake graphite in Shandong region remained stable. Currently, the mainstream quotation for -195 is between 6300-6500 yuan/ton, which is the same as last month. Entering winter, most of the scale graphite enterprises in Northeast China have stopped production for vacation, while a few enterprises are still producing, but their production has decreased and their inventory reserves are not large.
Due to the poor steel situation and declining demand for refractory materials in the flake graphite market recently, the price of flake graphite has declined, leading to confusion in enterprise quotations. As the Spring Festival holiday approaches, due to the shutdown of production in the Northeast region, the supply of graphite has decreased, and downstream enterprises have basically completed stocking. The supply and demand for flake graphite in the market is flat, and the quotation is relatively stable.
In 2011, the export situation of flake graphite was relatively sluggish. According to customs statistics, from January to November 2011, the total export volume of natural flake graphite in China was approximately 139000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 18.3%. Among them, the top five countries in terms of export volume are Japan, the United States, the Netherlands, Italy, and South Korea, with exports to these five countries accounting for 55.9% of the total export volume. According to export port statistics, the export volume of Qingdao Customs is 55800 tons, Dalian Customs 45100 tons, and Tianjin Customs 31900 tons. The total amount of graphite exported from these three customs accounts for over 95% of the total export volume.
